The week started sunny and amazing, smoothies & books at the beach, girly sleepovers & wine, dinner dates, cute bars & work was pretty rad too, was very busy and kept occupied, I was smiling even...but today is rainy and cold again, had a snuggly day on the couch, by myself, watching movies & thinking too much. Lucky this next week is jam packed and my mind will be busy, busy, busy...plus I get paid to take little kiddes to the Zoo and the movies and Luna Park... so it should be alright :)

I have no idea what I'm doing right now, I'm loving it in Sydney, but nothing seems to be happening...I know I'm exceptionally impatient and yet I'm trying not to freak out and just take life as it comes... I know, its been way too long, but I have a good excuse! I moved. To the other side of the country. Left my beloved little town in the outback to broaden my horizions in Sydney!! I never thought I'd live in the city!! But now I do. For now anyway. And so far, so good. MY apartment is super cute & old and a 4 min walk from the beach, cafes, basically anything you need!! Its quite lovely...I havent really thought much about what & who I've left behind (which is a good thing) so I have managed to fit into city life a lot better than I thought :)

The past two days have been the most amazingly clear, sunshiny, beautiful days that I've experienced in the past 2 months, maybe longer...they have literally been so amazing that all my other crazy thoughts (I've got a lot!) have been ignored and I've just been lettin the sunshine in..its been great, however the thoughts have all been sneaking back and its time to make some decisions and finally have a clear mind. I said ages ago that a change is in order, well its more that needed now, its a necessity...So I am going to stop saying in and get onto it:)

More Laura Marling. Have loved her for a long time but finally got to see her live. She's so cute and yet so bluntly and beautifully honest. She must of had some serious heartbreaking occur in the past because it's definitely reflected in her lyrics. I have been so occupied with work over the past couple of days and as its school holidays this isnt going to calm down anytime soon.My Youth Services team have been flat out delivering activities and events to keep the kiddies well entertained and off the streets. We have been working non-stop and without days off. It's crazy, soooo busy and because a lot of kids are back from boarding school, our numbers are exceptionally high! I did happen to get a surprise visit at work the other day from a lovely boy who seems to be trying to gain my attention. It was his morning off and he brought me a six pack of my favourite beer (disguised heavily in a Nike shoe box) Him being a bar manager seems to have its advantages..or so he might think :)...but with so much work, I'm finding it hard to make time for anything else...like a social life... and online shopping...I want what she's wearing. ^ Ha!

I have been soooo busy lately, I had a weeks hoilday in NSW for my cousins wedding (which was beautiful, despite being surrounded by relatives all weekend) But whilst I was over there I made the effort to see most of my good friends that reside on the East Coast of Aus. I was driving and having coffee for most of the week, trying to see as many people as possible. Very busy, but completely worth it.

Once I was back on the plane heading for the West Coast, ready to start my new job, I reoccured to me yet again, that I really hate change. I am pretty good when it comes to making the decision to change but I hate the actual process. My new job is so different from my old office job, its great, but I still need to adjust to the new hours and the fact that its pretty active and there is always something going on as appose to my quiet, rather boring desk job (which I will be glad to be rid of completely in a couple of weeks). I work nights now too, so my social life is rather quiet at the moment, but I'm adjusting and pretty excited for a new challenge :) I'll try and update a little more often now that things have started to settle down.

2009 was a crazy year. I moved in with 7 of my favourite friends, had the road trip of all road trips to Byron for Blues Fest, drove my little old Camry across the country, moved states, had to leave some old friends but made some lovely new ones, went overseas twice, stared a new job, hooked up with a criminal (haha) and got punched in the face for the first time! (another story for another post, hehe)....2010 however is going to be slightly more calm and a little more collected as I (finally) decided to go out and get a new job! In three weeks time I start my job as a Youth Worker at my towns's Youth & Recreation Centre! A job that hopefully, will be more active and more rewarding. So, there should not be any more posts of me complaining about my sucky office job! Yay! :) I also have made indefinite plans to visit my friend in Hong Kong later on in the year and I want to dye my hair a crazy colour!! What do you think? I can't decide which I like better.... ☮

oh, and a note to Jarrod, if he happens to be reading this: 'Yes, Jarrod. I want to dye my hair red to be more like you, it is true, you are just that cool' .

Aha shake heartbreak...

Ok. So. Funny story. Weird stuff happens when you travel. Like, for example, whilst I was rockin out in the beautiful Montreal, I met a guy who closely (not entirely, but very closely) resembled this guy above. This guy being Caleb Followill, King of Leon, himself. So, as you could imagine, when I met this amazingly rad guy that closely resembled Caleb Followill, I was in awe. Not only did he look a little similar to him but he spoke fluent French, was a musician, a poker player, had awesome tatts, knew great music when he heard it and also had an awesome sense of style. Um, can you say (very near) p e r f e c t??
He was not only all of these things, but smart, witty and instantaneously captivating. We hit it off instantly. He taught me a lot about music (what he lives for) and that you should be open to every genre instead of just your favourites, which I tend not to be. I spent a whole 2 days and 2 nights getting to know him and his rad music collection and it sucked majorly to leave the following day. We exchanged email addresses and have emailed sporadically since. However, it turned out to be a good thing that things didn't progress too much further as, apparently, he likes to steal from people on a regular basis, actually, on a more professional basis...The guy that I was absolutely smitten with is a criminal!!!! What a waste of such an awesome being! We still talk a bit but he doesn't know that I know what he does though...its actually a pretty funny story and I am always going to remember that time in Montreal when I hooked up with the French speaking, musically inclined con man!
Despite him being wanted for robbery, he is as close to a 'Caleb Followill' that I will ever get... and to be honest, I'm quite satisfied with that :)

I am really disliking being back home after travelling so much, I cant get settled. It happens every time. I am constantly agitated and fidgety and completely not able to focus. The first week back was so busy that I didn't really have time to miss being away, but things have died down and all I want to do it pick up and move. I loved being able do that, just pack up and head to a new place, a new exciting adventure waiting for me, whenever I wanted...I don't know how I'm going to adjust to a full time job with limited holidays for a whole year!!! Oh well, I'm off to the beach for the long weekend, hopefully I'll be thinking more possitively by the time I return :)

Wow, I have such a crazy busy week. After all the flying and travelling, I got back to mountains of paper work and and 45 degree heat. Although, this last week has been packed with Christmas parties, so it's been insanely busy but a lot of fun. I have started to plan my next adventure too :) Hope you're all having a rad time getting ready for Christmas. Lesson of the Day(according to society, not me) : Girls and Guys cannot be 'just friends'! Do people seriously have nothing better to do that fabricate completely false facts and advertise them around town???? Seriously, people of HC, GET A NEW HOBBY!!! My town is the worst for gossip, thank God, I'm outta here on Tuesday!!!! Aaaaanywaaaaay, on a much happier (& calmer) note, I did have fun this weekend! Last night, I went to two of my good friend's place for some much needed girl time & it was my last night with them before I jet off to the US. We ate tacos, watched That 70's Show re-runs and swapped stuff. We each brought along some much loved stuff that we were just a little tired with and we all swapped our stuff! It was so much fun, I came home with a new tshirt, hand bag and funky cord bracelets...I highly recommend trying it with some friends, it was a very fun night :) Hope your weekend was just as rad, if not, more :) x x x

This weekend, whist trying not to think about my life, I came to realise that a lot of the pics I looove and use a lot on my blog are from yyellowbird. I have found them via an array of different blogs and tumblrs, not knowing that they are actually all by the same photographer. Only today, did I realise this and manage to check out her flickr...and all her pics are amazing, this I already knew, but there are so many more beautiful pics of hers! Atleast now I can credit someone for some of the lovely pics that I frequently use :)

I am sooo excited to finally get to some shops, its not funny! I am going to hunt down some rad jewellry like in the above pic, no matter what it takes :) I am also so ready to get out of this crazy little gossip mill that is my town. Two posts ago I said that I didnt have any 'boy drama' to add to the accumulation of events currently pervading my life, well, now there is some. Boys are seriously the hardest creatures to be 'close' friends with, they make life so difficult sometimes. But moving on now...Have a great weekend, I'm sure going to try :) x x

Hectic week. Soooo much on my mind: Here's a snippet of what I've got on: A new Youth program I've started in my town, volunteering as Publicity Officer for my town's Christmas Programs, my work that is sucking in gigantic proportions, planning my rapidly approaching trip to the States (cannot wait!), my last unit of Uni (which I am failing miserably), managing to maintain and support effectively my close friendships, friendships where the other person is facing dump truck loads of spectacular drama and I'm still attepmpting to work out what to do with the rest of my life!!! I'm lucky that there is no boy drama to add to the chaos, the chaos that is my life. I want to be able to fall asleep for about a month, that would do it, a month and wake up fully refreshed and revitalized and ready to go! But I honestly think I will need a whole entire month!! :) Catch ya soon, Cupcakes (I'll be blogging again before a month is up, dont worry) L O V E x x

I have been so occupied lately and not with anything of actual meaning. My parents are away and the boys (electricians that work for my dad) are back in town (all three of them) and although I'm still meant to be looking after my little 7 yr old and 10 yr old sisters, I have been really ingenious with the whole multitasking thing and have been able to feed them, put them to bed and still manage to incorporate some awesome 'roof time' with the boys. The Roof has become the latest trend. The boys have recently got new little units relocated to our property and the roof of these units is relatively flat and also situated on a hill, providing us with the BEST location for late night chats, drinks and amazing star gazing. It's my catharsis. When I'm up there I'm able to forget the fact that my job kinda sucks arse and also the fact that living back at home is currently driving me insane! I'm loving it, just hangin' out with the boys. I've also started running, every afternoon. It's been awesome. I have heaps of Paramore on my Ipod and can't stop running when they come on. My feet hit the ground in sync with the awesome bass & drums. My mind drifts to another place, completely. It's insane!

Last weekend, John Lennon convinced me not to stress so much about my future...so instead, I decided to click through endless pages of weheartit.com and find rad pics for my blog. I also found out that The Rachel Zoe Project will be back on in Aus on October 6(!!!), ate the best sushi I've had in a loooong time and watched Pretty in Pink for the first time ever. and then Monday arrived. *insert sad face here*
